Making The Right Choice

With combined nursing and management experience of over 25 years, the Directors of Distinctive Care Limited are pleased to offer the Manor House Nursing Home in Longhope, Gloucestershire, as a quality residence for ladies and gentlemen of retirement age - typically over the age of 60 years. The Manor House aims to provide its Residents with a secure, relaxed and homely environment in which their care, well-being and comfort are of prime importance.

Our nursing staff will strive to preserve and maintain the dignity, individuality and privacy of all Residents within a warm and caring atmosphere, and in doing so will be sensitive to the Residents’ ever changing needs. Such needs maybe medical or therapeutic (for physical and mental welfare), cultural, psychological, spiritual, emotional and social, and Residents are encouraged to participate in the development of their Individualised Care Plans in which the involvement of family and friends maybe appropriate and is greatly valued.

All nursing staff and care assistants within the home are appropriately qualified and/or trained to deliver the highest standards of care. The Directors are passionate about staff development and a comprehensive staff-training programme is in place to inspire and empower staff to provide the highest standards of appropriate and individualised care. The Manor House is the focal point of village life in Longhope and both Mikki and Jon (Proprietors) are committed to bringing village life into the Home and empowering Residents to maintain contact with friends and continue to pursue outside interests whenever practicable. The Manor House is conveniently situated in the village of Longhope; of equal distance from Gloucester, Ross-on-Wye and The Royal Forest of Dean. The Home’s long tree-lined driveway can be accessed directly from the main A40 trunk road.

The main Georgian Manor House and adjoining buildings provides single, private room accommodation and homeliness in a way that respects the individuality, aspirations and personal wishes of Residents, who choose to either spend a day at The Manor House, convalesce for a week or two or take full advantage of all of the facilities by taking up permanent residency.
The Manor House rests in over 3 acres of unspoilt grounds and woodland. Streams meander through the gardens and outdoor living on warm, sunny days is encouraged and supported by the Home’s dedicated care team. The pursuit of hobbies, activities and beauty therapies is ably supported by the Home’s full-time Activity Coordinator and qualified Beauty Therapist. A range of therapies - including hand and feet massages, use of essential oils and facial treatments are provided free of charge as part of the service we provide.

The Manor House is the only nursing home in England that has been awarded Associate Organisation status by The Queen’s Nursing Institute. As the founding organisation of District Nursing, The Queen’s Nursing Institute is committed to supporting nurses in delivering first-class, innovative and supportive services for patients. The Manor House shares these values and is committed to upholding the fine traditions of The Institute.
